Radeon 9200SE and Intel 440BX

Hi,

I have a 9200SE for my data system (MS-6163Pro Motherbord, i440BX) and now I have installed windows onto it and I only get 4bits color. I just can't get it working like it should.

Any help?

Thanks!

Have you installed the motherboard drivers, specifically the AGP drivers, for the system? There should be a CD with those drivers on it. You also should check for newer motherboard drivers online.

I still have a system using a i440BX board (ABIT brand) and the cards I've put in that have worked fine.

Also, which version of DirectX are you using? You should go ahead and update the system to DirectX 9.0b from Microsoft's DirectX download site. You can even do it via the Windows Update.

Keep us posted on the results and progress.

I have installed windows XP with the latest drivers for every component inside that machine.
Using the latest DX as well.

However it still doesn't want to work like it should be.

It could very well be a bad video card. You might want to send a problem report to ATi. I'm sure they'd be happy to RMA the card.
