Hi all

first of all: I do not know whether I post this in the correct forum but I am desperate cause I cant get a solution for my problem. so please dont flame =)

ok , here is the story:

I am playing Half Life / CS / Natural Selection. whenever I try to launch any of these games with a third party product ( HLSW or Game Spy Arcade), HL crashes and I get the "video mode not supported" error message. although starting HL (or CS or NS) directly using the InGame Server browser works, but I get problems with Cheating Death.

Other Games work fine, I have these probs since the last Omegadriver release (2496b)

SOmehow, the 3rd party products seem to mix up with the driver settings.

my question is:

how is that possible ?

Is there a way to force the regular driver settings on HL ?

Athlon XP 3000+
MSI k7n Delta
512 mb infineon chip 400 DDRAM
win xp sp 1a
saphire radeon 9500 softmodded to 9700 (not overclocked)

Using HLSW

go into settings

double click on half-life

make sure that priority is set to unchanged or normal

than try this (taken from their FAQ):

Uncheck all parameters except "-console" in HLSW Settings under Half-Life. (You can activate other parameters too, if you are sure that you need them.)

or:
Add the following parameters in the field Additional parameters in Settings -> Settings.. -> Games -> Half-Life (double click):
-h heigth of your resolution and -w width of your resolution.
Important are the spaces between -h / -w and the settings.

e.g. For a resolution of 1024*768 you have to add -h 1024 -w 768 in the field.





As for cheating-death I don't use it so I can't help you there sorry.
