Radeon 9800s, 3DMark2K3 and PSUs

Howdy all!

I recently got a (working this time) Sapphire 128Mb Radeon 9800 Pro. After first running it, I raised an eyebrow to the fact I got a pretty feeble initial score of 1800 or something. After installing the latest drivers, this shot up to about 3700, which I was reasonably pleased with. My 330W PSU was less impressed however, and decided to drink up power, courtesy of the 9800 and randomly switch of my PC and overwork itself to try and keep up. Rest assured, I got a new PSU, expecting this score to creep up.

It's gone down now to about 2800. I have no idea why. Surely a more powerful 460W Enermax PSU would have helped to increase - rather than DECREASE - performance? Is there something fundamentally wrong here? I'm using the 3.8 drivers, and stock everything - I've not attempted any form of overclocking or tweaking.

Thanks!

Make sure all your setting in the ATI CONTROL PANEL are set to application preference, other than that your going to need to post more info on your setup motherboard, cpu, ram, psu

Oops!

Well, I feel like an idiot. I thought that 3DMark worked irrespective of those. ;D Well, that's brought my score up to a much more acceptable 5750. Thank you very much! =)
