??? 9800Npro to a 9800Pro , how to?

I have a built by ATI 9800NPro , it has the samsung ram and the correct chip placement (2 on top 2 on the side) , i was wondering if anyone could post the link for the mob that turns this into a PRO version , i dont plan on OCing it past pro specs and i have a 7 fan case so air flow will be fine. Any help would be great.

Not sure you will find a mod, but I have heard people say they were successful flashing the 9800np with a 9800Pro bios

Im curious why do you want to do that? Do you realize the danger in it?

(Im not saying dont do it, just wondering why you are doing it and if you know what it does)

I'll be honest, I've got a Hercules 9800 Non-Pro and flashed the Pro bios in it and it works like a charm and yes this one is with the samsung memory.

If you have a Hercules Radeon 9800 Non-Pro then check this site out: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=get...104&howtoID=40

Use this at your own risk, if you screw up your card don't look at me

There's no danger in flashing the card's bios. If the 9800 non-pro has samsung 2.8 or 3.3ns memory it will flash fine. Even if the flash is unsuccessful all you do is get a blank screen on startup and you can do 1 of 2 things: Flash the card back to the original bios blind, or flash the card back to the original with a PCI graphics card installed.

I currently have my Sapphire 9800 non-pro with Samsung 3.3ns memory flashed to a pro running at 378/337.5

There is no danger? I wonder who has more experience in this field, you or I?

Anyways, since you are so sure why dont you guarantee peoples boards that do it? Tell everyone you will send them a replacement card if they listen to your advice and their card dies?

We sure as hell wont do so, but you seem pretty sure theres no dangers, so step up!

Catalyst Maker I'd say you're in a position to know. Can you tell us the dangers? From a professional and manufacturers standpoint? I'd like to know actually as I hear about the dangers but it's of course from geeks like me, not from a professional.
EDIT: Just read your last reply, not trying to be facetious, I'd like to hear it from your end. Thanks.

Well Spyro124 I do give you credit for having "BALLS" if nothing else.....Do you think that CM is really going to advise you how to not only possibly damage your card, but to give you his blessings to commit fraud if it fails

I think not

Well he doesn't need to tell me how to do it, because I already did it and second if you look at the Hercules Radeon 9800 non-pro and at the Hercules Radeon Pro, you'll notice that both card look identical, same cooler, same heatsinks same everything except for the bios

Now that I look at my question again, I see I wrote it wrong, so sorry for that, I'm not here for any fraud or whatever, I was just wondering how they could see it, since if you flash the bios the old bios is gone, so that check is gone, I was just wondering for any other checks, which can't be removed or whatsoever without fysically damaging the card, which is ofcourse noticable (otherwise you guys might think I'm still trying to fraud someone).

Sorry but I don't see the humor in my question, if I would be joking they you'd see smiles like these in my post: . But if you look at my post again, you don't notice em Also I don't see whats wrong with my question, because aperently there are some known things where they can see if it's a 9800 pro or non pro, also I'm not asking for him to pinpoint em, just if there are, but someone else answered that question.

But just leave it at this, there are things where you can see it even after flashing the bios, nothing to see, move along

I did not mean to insinuate that there are no dangers in flashing a bios, for that I am sorry.

Of course there are dangers, just like there are dangers doing anything when you change the bios. Just like something "could" happen when you flash your motherboard's bios, like the bios becoming corrupted, however unlikely. You act as if people should stay away from flashing a gfx card's bios like it was the plague. Usually anyone wanting to overclock cards or any computer components should know there is an inherent danger. You're pushing something past what it's specified to do

I'm not making a guarantee, I'm just trying to inspire a bit of courage. I myself have never heard of anyone losing a gfx card when they flash the card's bios but it doesn't mean it couldn't happen of course.
