9800 pro bench mark help
Anybody out there that can help or advise !
A bit new to this game but dead keen - have just recieved and installed a new
9800 pro 128mb and I am a little confused as to my bench mark results listed
below.
3D 2001 se - 13205
3D 2003 - 5726
I am OK with 3D03 but 2001 looks pathetic - expected 15000 + I have also used
latest cat drivers and the latest omega set still no improvement.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
My rig : AMD 2600xp running@ 2.23ghz heaps of cooling on system and graphics.
768m pc2100ddr ram oc@290 CPU 42 - 48c max
80gb hard drive System 32 36c max
Power Color 9800pro 128mb
500w power supply
MB uses 4x agp not 8x
Callaway will be greatfull

I think the first thing you may want to look at is the 768m pc2100ddr ram.... depending on the FSB speeds your motherboard is capable of...

HI,
Firstly, welcome to the forum
Your right, the 2001 results look a little low...i think its just a case of your mobo/ram holding you back a little. The reason i say that is i used a 2600+ to do our 9800pro review here: http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/9800256/index2.htm and my 2001 results were in the 15k's. I used a Nforce 2 mobo and stock ddr333 in dual channel so maybe it just worked a little better with everything in sync. What is your Motherboard?

If you're in to overclocking, get the abit nf7 v.2.0....i have this mobo and absolutely love it!! ..and get a matching pair of some good 3200 or 3500 memory... it will certainley help boost your scores..
