rolleyes different pcb color...

Hi, A couple months ago I bought an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro OEM and the PCB color is different from the one in the preview picture. So I was wondering if OEM cards have different PCB colors than retail cards.

OEM means it is not made by ATI- oem's are made by other manufacturers who sell retail and OEM's of their product.

When I bought my 9700pro a while ago I wasn't sure what the deal was with OEM ATI cards because I saw a bunch listed "Made by ATI OEM"

I called ATI ans asked them what the deal was- they told me there is no such thing as a "made by ATI" OEM card- all made by ATI cards are retail or just used.

What you have is a product made by another company - not that that's bad, it may be just as good quality or better, maybe not. But it's PCB color doesn't really mean anything.

Where did you buy it? Do you have a link to the picture? All you really need to know is that is in fact the card you ordered and not a fake lower model OC'd or something... That's the important thing.

Oh, you know it's not a "built by" ATI anyway right? I hunted down the link that leads to the page you gave me here: 11th from bottom - it says POWERD BY ATI in big letters.

So OEM means it could be made by anybody, so yeah it could be any color. It is not made by ATI. I would be more concerned with the fact that if might not be a true 9600pro- and that it might be a 9600 non pro. I'm not sure what the clock speed is supposed to be on those cards, but I'm sure you could find out easily enough and compare it to your card.

It would be funny if it was built by ATI- you can check on the ATI website- it will tell you to punch in the numbers on the sticker that's on you're card.
