2 problems that need to be fix please

I have two things I need help with ,
first I have a friend (yes I really do :O ) and he has a sapphire 9000 non pro that he is having problems with
seems that during gaming it locks up or reboots , now I have added a fan to the heat sink , a side blow hole in his case blowing over the card and cleaned his CPU and put AC3 on it to heat out . nothing seems to work so far .
I loaded rage3d on it and the clock setting are right and it's not over clocked as far as I can tell ,
now I have heard alots a poeple have had problems with this card but just formatted my computer and lost the bootmark to the sites that I was using before .
and they also said that an updated VGA bios flash will fix the problem but I can't seem to fine one so far. does anyone know of any of this or anyway to fix it.


my other problem is I just got my 8500LE 128 back from sapphire from RMA (it was only seeing 64Mb )
and while it was out in RMA world I was using an old ATI radeon 32ddr in that computer . now that I have it back I want to put it back in that computer but very time I try xp give me a delayed write error .
I have went through and removed any thing relating to ati on the computer , but have not used a driver cleaner and that is my next step to go , but I don't want to reformat just for a video card replacement.

anyone help with these ???
