Fist of all you should check if your 9500PRO is o/c-able. As far as i know, there are lots of models with locked BIOS - locked against o/c-ings, that is..
Second : 9500 PRO cannot be modded intro 9700. The reason is simple : 9500 PRO has only 128 bit memory bus while 9700 has a 256 bit memory bus. And you cannot change / hack this. Modding into 9700 can be done ONLY to 9500 nonPRo (with 256 bit memory bus) by activating the extra 4 texturing lines that differentiate the 9500 nonPRO from 9700.

I overclock a little with Rage3D and the information of 3DMark03 shows the overclocked speed.
So i guess my card doesn´t have a locked BIOS.
Which factory´s do you know of, built cards with locked BIOS? Mine is built by FIC.
You really surprised me with that of the locked BIOS.

As far as i know, among Sapphire Radeon9500 PRO owners were some who had locked cards. But you might check the threads within the Ati Section in DriverHeaven or the Rage3D Forum for further information.

Do you mean modding it to a 9700? As far as i know there was a limited edition of 9500´s which could be converted to a 9700. Because my card is a Pro version, i couldnt help you much...
