personally, i'm eyeing on the zalman heatpipe and the thermaltake's Giant ii, but there're both too expensive for me........any way, do you plan to get ramsinks??

The Iceberq4 is minimal, if you've seen the review they only got an extra 20mhz+ out of the core, and lost some MEM from its ramsinks.
I'm going with the Zalman Heatpipe or the Thermaltake Giant II, both in my price range. But I'm gonna go search around for reviews on the Zalman heatpipe and the Giant II, I'll PM you most likely.

You can buy a crystal orb for less than that, and the crystal orb has double the CFM rating. You just want to lap it because it has a fairly large dent right in the center.

the Zalmans are only designed for normal cooling as far as I know, so overclocking with one of these is out of the question.

I've only ever heard about TT Crystal Orb. A friend has one on his 9700 and he loves it. Doesn't overclock though and put it on purely for cosmetic reasons. Strange that.

if using zalman, put a fan blowing on it, and it'll work good...if not, the iceberg4's are really good.

What's the crystal orb like?
I obviously got a great fan on my Sapphire 9800 Pro, it
allows me to clock the core to 450 with no artifacts.
I do think I have a pretty good airflow in the case though.

All I know really is that it is better than the stock cooler. I don't know by how much though. Would have posted some links but can't find any. If I do, I'll hoist them straight up here.

Yep same here. I am using the stock cooling on my 9700 and I have no problems overclocking it.

No my card is totally stock, i plan to add some ramsinks here in a little while. I can bench my card at 385 core and 345 memory. The only thing I have done is put a slot fan under it as a cheap little cooling option.

I used to use the slot fan option on my old gf2. One above and below. It was pretty decent actually.

Re: good cooler for 9800 pro?
Neon, I could recommend the Iceberq cuz I installed it on my 9800 Non-Pro (now it's a 9800 Pro with a BIOS flash) and the temperatures are excellent. I even overclocked the card and it's very stable and runs through multiple benchmarking and 3-4 hours gaming sessions.
For your reference, though, putting the core fan on the board was a bit of a bitch since the plastic clip-ons' width were a bit bigger than the holes on the board. In fact, I used one clip-on from Iceberq's package and one clip-on from the stock 9800 cooling unit.
As for the thermal adhesive (for the memory heatsinks), I used the Arctic Alumina. Just be sure to follow the directions on the Internet. I didn't at first and ended up reinstalling the RAM heatsinks!!
Also, when applying the thermal adhesive, be sure to use a very thin layer that will get the RAM heatsinks to firmly stick on but not too much to defeat the purpose of cooling.
Good luck!!
