Sapphire HD 3450 - font problem

Hi!

I got a severe problem with the way my sapphire HD 3450 displays fonts.

my system: Win XP - Cat. 8.9 (Sapphire first, then original ATI) - Sapphire HD 3450 - TFT-display. Desktop is in "classic XP"-mode, otherwise no changes. 96 DPI.

Please watch this screenshots:

Notice the "ugly" flow of letters/words at the left shot.

This happened after I installed the HD 3450. Before that upgrade, I used the intel onboard-vga, and everything was fine back then. I tried enhanced display, like standard-antialiasing as also cleartype and the cleartype-tuner. While it did change a bit, nothing really helped.

Is it the graphiccard, or maybe drivers?

Any hints are appreciated!
HC

Re: Sapphire HD 3450 - font problem

it looks like your arial font dissappeared/broke & another is being used as a replacement

you could open notepad & have some text in there, then change between arial & another font like verdana

is this in all of windows?
