dang you and your 9600 all to hell !!!
Ok why this in the ATI card forum???
Well, folks, here I was, sittin all fat and sassy, knowing EXACTLY what my next vid card was going to be, and those weasels at Nvidia have screwed it all up
I was thinking, 3870 x2, no brainer. Performance as good or better than 2 x 3870s in crossfire, and cheaper. Plus, I could still, at a later date, go with 2 x 3870 x2's in crossfire. Win-win situation, right?
But noooooo. Now with the 9600 whuppin the 3850, and pretty much on par with the 3870, AMD/ATI (or should I start calling them Daamit?) respond by dropping the $$ on the 3870's to compete $ wise with the 9600
NOW, we are looking at 2x 3870's being roughly $80.00 cheaper than an x2
At this point, the "war department" (wife), is gonna be giving me the old fishy eyed stare, and possibly 'hot tongue, and cold shoulder' for supper, if I get the x2 as opposed to 2x 3870's
I need some help guys. I'd REALLY like to eventually be running 2 x x2's but I need some GOOD arguments to convince the war deartment that it's better to spend the extra $80.00 now.
Also bear in mind. The war department is no dummy. She got a BA in Computer Science WAY back in 1972, when most people had never even seen a computer. Lame arguments are NOT gonna fly with her
