So the question is. What is better, two ordinary 3870's or this one? As far as I can see the price is more or less equal.

Those GX2 better be freaking fast, if they plan to launch them with a price ABOVE the ultra card...

I have neither yet. I am getting a 790FX motherboard though, haven't decided if I'm gonna go Gigabyte or MSI yet, so I'm just trying to figure out what is best to buy, two ordinary 3870's or one of these. Pricewise it's cheaper to buy two standard 3870's, at least here in Sweden.

from what i've heard on this, it's supposed to be ~30% better than the ultra and about the price of what the GTX is now, about $450 USD.

What's the difference between the different brands really?
I've been checking prices and the 3870X2 from Club 3D is almost $100 cheaper than the Sapphire one. Isn't it just the same card with different stickers on? |

Really only clocks offered at stock, and different packages of extras like cables, games and stuff like that.

Idon't know if anyone is still checking this thread or not but I just struck gold with newegg after tramatically dropping my tower down an outdoor flight of stairs into a snowy demise I was able to RMA my HD2900XT for a full refund and spent only $25 more then what I paid for the 2900 to order this HD3870X2 I should recieve it by Wednsday and I will post my findings of this cards performance. Although I know my current setup will not crack the surface of this cards true performance. So I will be building my system around this card I will be upgrading my mobo, cpu, ram and psu. I am thinking of going with the ASUS M3A32 MVP DELUXE for a mobo And a Phenom Quad and Corsair XMS Dominator DDR2 1066Mhz Haven't decided on a PSU yet but I have been thinking about an Antec 850Watt with Quad 12v Rails. Any Thoughts or recommendations for my next set of upgrades would be helpfull so let me know what you think.
