CRT adopting HDTV settings (Powerstrip)
Hi there peeps,
Situation:
I've recently bought a Hannspree YT08 37 inch HDTV to be used as a second monitor/HDTV display alongside my 19 inch LS902UT VM 1451 CRT.
My CRT is connected to my x800xt via the VGA port and my HDTV is connected via a DVI-D - HDMI cable.
My HDTV accepts 720p/1080i at 60hz over HDMI according to the manual. Its a WXGA tv with a native resolution of 1366x768
I run my CRT at 1280x1024@85hz using the appropriate IIyama driver.
Problem:
I've used extended desktop quite a lot in the past but never with a HDTV and as such am having a bit of a headache getting it set up how I want it.
The main issue for me right now is that when using Powerstrip to set up both monitors, my CRT seems to take on the properties of my HDTV.
Without my HDTV plugged in, Powerstrip scans my system and reads the registry settings and lists all available modes for my CRT.
When I attach my HDTV and rescan, the CRT properties like refresh rate, available resolutions etc. all become limited to that of the HDTV too. When I reboot my CRT will only change to resolutions that the are that of the HDTV (16:9) or else it black screens.
Without powerstrip I can run them both independently but there is a major overscan problem with the HDTV that I need powerstrip to sort.
Also if I use a DVI-VGA converter and use my HDTV with a D-SUB VGA cable instead, it works flawlessly but the TV only accepts 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions over VGA and stretches them to fit.
Not being familiar with HDTVs or Powerstrip I can't be much help, but I can provide further info if needed.
I'd appreciate any advice you guys can give as this is driving me nuts.
