Sapphire x1950 Ultimate Artifacts

Hi Guys.
I went out & bought myself a shiny new sapphire x1950 & a case with 500w PSU, & after i installed them i fired up COD2 to take the card for a test drive.

However after 5 mins little artifacts appeared all over the screen & but the pc didnt freeze, & the card was only 35c.. this happend about three or four times. Then i noticed the graphics card was sharing a power cable with the really big LED fan at the back of the case & since i gave the card a cable of its own, I have played through 2 levels of cod2 without a hiccup, but i think it's still too early to tell

So my question to you guys is could those 2 sharing the same power cable cause artifacts like that?
Thanks

System Specs

You PSU don't have the PCI-E power cables
I think the artifacts were caused by that fan. So I would say yes it does cause it when the GPU isn't getting enough power.

ps. what is you PSU maker and it's model?? it's weird that 500W PSU don't have the normal PCI-E power cable.
btw. what BIOS version you have? I know that there is BIOS update in sapphires support site for x1950 Pro ultimate.

Yes, it's a definite and known fact that having the video card share power with another device can cause problems. So, it's always best to give the card its own power source.
