A small question here?????
I just ordered a X1950XT NOT the XTX version. I will be switching to this fron a Nvidia 7900GT KO SC. I really don't like Nvidia but the card fell to me dirt cheap. Any way , do you guys think I will see any performance gains or about the same??? I'm sure IQ will be better as Nvidias sucks!!!

i too am iterested to go back to ATI, is the 7900 512 or 256? if its 256 i would think the performance would be an par or better. wat about the VGA charts at toms hardware? u chek em out? im also curious how a 512 x1950 pro matches up against the x1950xt 256 which is about the same price.

Ya, the 7900GT was a 256. I'm hoping for a little better performance to be honest. I hope anyway.

check out this VGA chart, i know this represents the regular clock and yours is the overclocked version but if the 12 pipe x1950 pro beats the 7900 GT almost always i can only imagine the 16 pipe x1950xt would perform better for you.

He is.
The X1950 will perform better than the 7900GT, but the IQ will be about identical... if not better in favor of nVidia.
IMO their IQ doesn't suck like it did during the GeForce FX days

well I can't agree with that...but I respect your opinion. I think ATI's iq is far better than Nvidia...I will agree that Nvidias has gotten better ...but not quite as good as ATI i think.

Have you seen nVidia's IQ lately?
Pretty much the same in my book as ATI now. Infact some videos I've seen (benchmarking style videos) looked better on an nVidia card.
And never mind video capture... nVidia > AMD/ATI there.

well, Im selling a 7900GT KO SC, so ya I have seen the IQ lately. I dont do video on my PC so VC isnt important to me. I buy my GFX cards depending on how well they game and price/performance ratio. ATI has always owned Nvidia at that as far as im concerned. Like I said though, I respect your opinion....to each his own right.

Fair enough... I've heard it said that colour saturation is better on ATI cards anyway which I wouldn't be able to notice so maybe that's it

You must have too much money... you buy a new video card just cause you didn't really like the other one, and thought performance would be about the same with the new one (?!?!) so you buy another top of the line (well, almost), card, and now a new PSU..... I wish I could afford to do that kinda thing...
<-- I mean, look at that

Maybe if you're lucky he'll sell you the nVidia card and you can build a new system around that?

Its only the 850W and above PSU's that are really long because at that point you need alot of beefy AC line capacitors and all

i hope that set up works out, i got that PSU along with an x1950xt comin in tomorrow and an open box A8N32 SLI Deluxe for 88 buks the next day, i hope 18 amps on one of the 12v rails is ok, 2 of the 4 the rails are dedicated with there own PCIe lead each for GPU's, its gotta be enough, funny while ordering the card i was thinkin hmmmm...... about my 520 powerstream, hows that turnin out?, 520 power stream logically seems to be right at the threshhold for that type GPU/setup, wat all you get, just artifacts and all or it shut all the way down?
