help with x800gto prob

im building a budget gamer for a buddy. specs as follows
celeron d at 2.53...gigabyte ga-965p-ds3...1 gig corsair value select @533...250 gig seagate sata2...samsung dvd burner...600 watt xion v2.2 ps...
now...i originally had an x800 128 mb card from msi in here...got newegg to take it back and traded it for a x800gto 256 mb card from powercolor. problem is, this thing is now scoring lower on 3dmark tests...went from 15200 something on 01 to 13300 something and from 5100 something on 05 to 4200 somthing...weird thing is it went up on 06 to 1250 from 975...anyway, here are the specs
x800 by msi x800gto by powercolor
128 mb 256 mb
392 core clock 400 core clock
350 memory clock (700 effective) 492 memory clock (985 effective)
why the heck is the x800 beating the x800gto?
