Monitor GPU Core Temp?
I just installed an AIW 800XT in and would like to know if possible on this card what is the best utility for monitoring the gpu core temp?
I tried Riva Turner and it says it doesn`t support the latest drivers from ATI .
Thanks for any replys.
Regards, Silverfox

D\l & installed the ATI Tray Tools & the three plug-ins that go along with it. Unpacked the plug-ins [dll`s] in the plug-in folder of the ATI Tool Trays installation folder.
Opened up the program and clicked on plug-ins and the ones for being able to monitor the HD and GPU temp would not work. Says something to the effect about not having certain dll`s in the pc.
Thanks for any replys or suggestions for another program that may work to monitor the video boards core temp if possible.

The plugin DLL's shouldn't be nessecary to monitor GPU temp, because gpu temp monitoring is part of the ATT core, if I remember correctly.
Anyway try AtiTool, it's pretty simple.
But be aware that your card maybe lack a probe for monitoring gpu temp, if thats the case, then there is nothing you can do, but try out Ati Tool: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=15895

I just tried the ATI TOOL .24 program you suggested and no luck with it either!
All it will show is my core & memory clock speeds for tweaking, but no temp monitoring at all.
The below link states that all x800 cards have the lm63 chip on them for temp monitoring in the below link but obviously it must be dependent on your motherboard, and they don`t tell you that.

Try the Ati Tool .25 beta 15.
It's true that all x800 cards should have a monitor chip, but I guess you could be unlucky and have a card without anyone.

For ATI Tray Tools you must go to Hardware->Overclocking->Monitoring Graphs

Thanks Ray, I will re-install ATI TRAY TOOLS and try your working parameters.
I have the ATI 6.7`s & the CCC installed on the pc and I do NOT see any performance tab under the VPU tab to click on in the CCC. This may be because the AIW cards from ATI do NOT have the temp sensor chip installed on them versus the regular 800 series cards.
I sent an e-mail to ATI along with the serial number on this AIW 800xt card to see if the LM63 chip was installed on this card for temp monitoring purposes, and haven`t heard back from them yet. I think it is on the board, but it is hard to see under the fan shroud casing of the card that pretty much covers where the chip should be depicted in the below link:

H3X4D3C1M4L, Thats a good idea watching your GPU temp on a second monitor with the ATI TOOL, when playing intensely graphic games.
I tried installing the .24 program once and it just locked my pc up while attempting to open the program after I installed it. Had to re-boot manually and un-installed it, and haven`t tried the new .25 beta version yet.
If I do try the .25 beta version out and get it to install correctly and the program opens up, what tab do you click on to get the temperature monitoring graph to activate?
Also is their a possibility that a conflict may arise with the CCC & ATI TOOL installed together on the pc?
I know I don`t allow the ATI CCC to start-up with windows, but I do have it installed along with the 6.7`s from the official ATI website.
Thanks for any replys !
Regards, Silverfox

All you do is go into Settings --> Temperature monitoring then check Enable temp monitoring and set the poll interval to 5 seconds (too much can make it "skip" and not read anything every 20 mins or so I find).
CCC is fully compatible with ATI Tool and vice versa

Well, I tried the .25 beta and it did the same thing. Just locked up the pc during the opening of the program and had to manually power the pc down. I removed the .25 in safe mode and I have no intention of attempting to use this program again. Must be something in my pc or another program other then the CCC creating a conflict. I have NO other Ocing program or temp monitoring app in my pc, so I don`t know what is causing the freezing of the pc only when I install this ATI TOOL app !
Anyways, thanks for the help.

H3X4D3C1M4L is right once again ! Unfortunately ATI does not support any of the AIW cards or at least the X800XT AIW`S with the Performance or Overdrive tab. That really makes no sense to me whatsoever!
I never have asked but does any program allow the GPU core Temp to be displayed on the same screen while playing a game like the app called fraps thats measures your FPS ?
That would be nice observation for folks that have only one monitor !
