welcome to DH reqoon .
well, you started off ok by giving some system specs, but in order to better help you, we need more than just the processor, and gfx card. what would be especially helpful would be the MoBo make and model, and your other system specs as well.
But most likely from what you've mentioned, it's probably a BIOS setting, or it's set to auto in the BIOS and you see it as "0x" is my best guess with the information you've provided.

It would be helpful also to know if you have just started having this problem. Is it a newly installed system?
If it's newly installed, be sure to install the Motherboard drivers/Chipset drivers for that motherboard. Those will be on a CD that came with the motherboard. You should also check online for newer ones at the manufacturer's WEBsite.
Once you get those installed, go into the BIOS and set the AGP speed there. Be sure to SAVE those settings before exiting the BIOS.
Good luck!

We're still looking for more detailed specifications. Which actual motherboard, CPU, etc?

Can't be sure as Dyre says, but I've also seen this happen when the drivers haven't installed properly. If you have just reformatted then I would also check that you installed the motherboards agp drivers...

could always be the BIOS battery needs replacing, althought as stated your best bet is to make sure your chipset driver is ok

Look on the motherboard for some kind of ID stamp. It's hard to say where this would be as sometimes it's somewhere along the edge and other times it can be right in the middle of the board.
Once you establish which board it is, check the WEBsite for that board and get the latest Chipset drivers for it.

Belarc will tell you most of what you need to know about your comp, or Everest Home if you prefer
although sometimes there's just no other option than pulling your case open and physically checking

reqoon - could you post your system's model and serial number from the label on your HP computer? We can help you search for the required motherboard chipset drivers...
