Card not recognising games as 3d apps

Hi just wondering how do I make my games switch to 3d mode if you know what I mean because I had a graph running in the background showing my graphics card memory etc and they just continued in a straight line and I read somewhere that mabye my card isnt recognising certain games as 3d apps. Im using the latest drivers and have terrible performance in bf2 and I ran this graph while I played bf2 and its didnt spike etc.

My specs

x800xl 256agp aiw
p4 2.4
2 gig pc2700
2x80 gig hardrives
mainboard ga-8siml
600watt psu
17inch lcd monitor
audigy 2zs

Be sure that you have installed the latest motherboard drivers/chipset drivers and that you have installed DirectX 9.0c.

Also, you can test the DirectX app by going to Start/Run and type 'dxdiag' in the box, then OK. (Don't include the ' ' around dxdiag.)

Run the tests to make sure your DirectX is running correctly.

so is this a problem the fact that my memory clock speeds on the graph do not go up or down whilst playing games?

H3X4D3C1M4L will become famous soon enough
System Specs

The speeds will never ever go up or down. You're running an X800XL, only the X1k series changes clock speeds. The only way it'll change is if you change it yourself.

So there is technically no 2D/3D mode so to speak
