Tribes Vengeance freezes, black-screen's

I purchased Tribes Vengeance around the same time I got a same-model replacement video card for my dead ATI Radeon 9550. I installed the Omega 3.8.252 drivers for my video card, and nothing went wrong.

The problem I'm having now is that whenever I play T:V (and ONLY when I play T:V), the game will freeze for a few seconds, and then the screen will turn black. The only way to get the game to draw anything on-screen is to minimize to the desktop, and then go back into the game. Unfortunately, this problem doesn't seem to happen regularly, and its intermittent; the game doesn't freeze up on a regular timeframe (i.e. every 30 minutes after starting the game, it freezes).

Like I mentioned earlier, this problem only comes up with Tribes: Vengeance. HL2, WoW, and any other game I play works fine.

Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks for your help!

System Specs

Perhaps theres a patch for the game? Maybe you're forcing anti aliasing on it and it doesn't like that? Maybe Catalyst AI needs to be turned off? All posibilities
