ATI 320M Need Help

I own a Compaq Presario 2199US and am getting the blue screen of death with Irql---nit equal..blah blah blah...Sometimes I get the some squibbles with ati involved..
After some research on the web..I think this is a problem with my ati driver..So I wiped out the hard drive and reinstalled everything...using the original driver disk that came with the laptop...and being foolish I updated the video driver via the HP web site...now I get the blue screen intermittently...and it is impossible to do anything with this laptop...So how do I solve this problem...It is impossible to download the catalyst 4.10 version because I can't find it..I can't download the mod tool either located elsewhere on this page...so am I SOL or do I have to erase everything all over..flash the bios and install the original ATI driver from the recovery disk? Geez ...ATI could offer more support for their products ...this is horrible...(I am aware that bad ram could be causing this problem...but it is not...don't tell me that the CPU is fried it looks ok..but it does run at 60 degrees..I hope it isn't that...) I hope AMD does a better job with ATI...we'll soon see.Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated...

System Specs

Well, re formatting, re installing and NOT allowing HP to update your driver is my first thought.
60C for the CPU is a bit on the high, but not TOO high. Mine runs at 34C, but my old Duron used to run at 58 all the time.
Or are you talking about the GPU temp? 60 is not that bad in that case.
