And the problems continue
I recently switched back to my X700 Pro from my pathetic VisionTek X1300 512MB. I play Oblivion for this comp, and my X700 Pro (after getting Omega's latest drivers) got the game running smoothly and looking ok. I decided to overclock the core clock as well, I didn't do it by much, just 15 Mhz and it seemed to work fine, though my fan was running pretty hard. Though if I played the game for awhile eventually my monitor would go blank and the comp would reboot, no warning, just a blank screen and I hear the power go off then on again and it starts booting up. Even after setting the clocks back to factory default I experienced this problem, so I'm at a loss at what is happening, is it the game or my card?

Well unless I can find a program to monitor the temp in game the only thing I have to monitor it is my Ati Tray tools from Omega drivers, and it seems to stay at a constant 46 degrees w/o running any graphics-heavy games. When I had this card in before I got my X1300 I never had this problem playing Oblivion.

It could be hot weather... the weather over here is especially hot with a broken A/C and my PC seems to be performing more eratically even with fans on full
Room temp is now 36 degrees centigrade

Well i had ati tools monitor my card while i played Oblivion and the max temp i think was 70 degrees or so never above 80. I keep my room well ventilated and i have a fan keeping it all cool. So i'm at a loss as to what is causing it, it hasn't done it for awhile thankfully, was it possibly the overclocking?

X700 Pr0 Poblems
my son runs a x700pro 256mb pcie card. He downloaded drivers from somewhere else and has nothing but problems since. He lost his original driver disk, that makes things worse.
Teens think parents are stupid so he wont listen to me. Will somebody please tell hom where to get drivers that work. The Catalyst control even freezes his comp.
Email me or him im at jncnjn@cox.net he is at FF_Freak1@yahoo.com thanks to anyone who can help.

I'd be more than happy to help. I have some drivers that are nice and even improve performance. You can get them from www.omegadrivers.net if those happen to be the drivers he is having problems with i suggest going to www.ati.com and finding the most up to date ones there. Also, remember to uninstall all other drivers you already have from Add/Remove programs in the control panel. Hope this helps.

"Well unless I can find a program to monitor the temp in game the only thing I have to monitor it is my Ati Tray tools from Omega drivers"
motherboard monitor... run it & let it sit in the tray... fire up a game... exit aftr a while, right click the temps in the taskbar>settings>high low
this is how i check the max cpu/case/power(if possible)
atitool (not tray tools) has a graph & a highest temp page in the options
hmm & in mbm, check the highlow to see if the psu's 12v is fluctuating.. i know mine does heh..... my xp's totally on the edge...
