Can I use a x1800xt Sapphire 512mb and a Ati 512mb Crossfire Edition card for crossfire

x1800 series together, x1600 series together, x1900 series together, etc.

You sure cadaveca? Read the Crossfire specs on ATI's site, it says the cards will run at their independed speed, however drop down to how ever many pipes the card with the fewest pipes has. That kind of tells you that an X1600 and X1800 should run together, sense it was writen long before the release of a low pipe X1800 (the GTO).

So long as the ATI 512mb crossfire card is an x1800xt it will work fine.

I don't believe manufacturer matters for Crossfire... it used to for SLI but I think therre was a driver that fixed that

this could be x1800 or x1900. the x1800 card will work, and upon boot the master card will disable it's extra ram to match the slave, if it has only 256mb. Brand name does not matter. I am running Sapphire X1900Crossfire and BBATI X1900XTX.
