tv-out help
hey, i dont know much about video cards or anything, but when i bought my computer i had a sapphire 9600xt 256megs or something, and i just recently bought the svideo cord for it. but the thing i dont get is how do i switch from computer to tv? i dont know nothing about computers, and i been searching the internet for awhile, im using omegadrivers. is there any other forums that have links that can teach me? last time i fooled around and my monitor turned black for a few days,
any comments would help, thanks

Its fairly easy if you use the CCC rather than the Omega drivers. Just hook up the cable to the card, and the TV. It should be detected on the next boot (provided the TV is on)
Then you just set either extend desktop or clone mode (or stretch mode) from the display manager of the CCC (in advanced view)
If its not working you can force detect TVout also in the display options of the CCC.

I like the Omegadrivers due to the performance boost I get in my games. So, you don't have to use the official drivers with CCC to get TV OUT to work. I use it constantly to capture my gaming videos.
The main thing is to make sure you have the connections right. Should be pretty straightforward with the S-Video cable.
Now, right click anywhere on your Windows Desktop on a blank spot and select Properties at the bottom.
In the next screen, Display Properties, select the Settings tab.
On the next screen select the Advanced button.
On the next screen select the Displays tab.
On the next screen you will see the options for your displays. One of these will be TV. Click the red 'button' on the far left and your TV OUT should become active.
Post back if there's any trouble.

Looks like you actually got the TV Out working and it's limiting your main monitor resolution to 1024x768.
Let me give you something to work with.....
On that page where you were told to click on the RED button to the far left of the TV OUT you need to do this:
Click on the MONITOR button above the TV OUT option.
You'll see a line that says "Use DDC......" with a checkmark in front of it. Click that Checkmark to uncheck the option.
Now, go back and try to increase the Desktop Resolution.

Just use the Clone option. AND, set your Windows Desktop to 1024x768 as that's the limit for TV OUT.

OK, per your images you posted, I have to ask this:
Are you already running with two displays? That is, two monitors already hooked up? It appears that you do and that both are presently active. That's per the first image showing the two screens. If this is the case, you will not be able to activate the TV OUT until one monitor is disabled. The video card can only make two displays active at the same time. That would be one monitor + TV OUT; or Two Monitors.

In the image you show above....the one with the large 1 screen and the small 2 screen: Click on the small 2 screen and uncheck any boxes below that. There will be two boxes: one allows the display to be the primary and the second one asks to extend the desktop. Make sure both boxes are unchecked when you select that small 2 screen.
The way you have it set up now, I can almost guarantee that, if you move your mouse cursor off the right edge of your Windows Desktop display, the cursor will show up on your TV screen. Tell me if that's right or not.
