Radeon X1300 Pro - Far Cry hangs when loading with very-high detail
Far Cry Retail + Radeon X1300 Pro (driver 6.4) + Very High Detail = game load hangs!
...works fine upto high-detail setting but why no longer very high detail?
anyone an answer for this?

What resolution are you trying to play at? The X1300 Pro is a low-end card, so maybe you're asking too much out of your PC and it hangs.

X1300 Pro (256MB) low end card? damn fast for being low end!
resolution is 1024x768..should work fine I guess? I played very-high resolution on my old 9600Pro AGP card (somewhat slow) but it worked fine.

According to the chart below, your card should do fine at 1024x768.
Did you update Far Cry completely, all the way up to 1.33?

I'm pretty sure its a driver bug, report it to ATI via the catalyst crew feedback on ATI's website

Yes sounds like another Catalyst driver bug.
You can always test with an older version of drivers or maybe with a costum driver like the Omega

Yeah, going from dual X1900 XT/XTX in Crossfire to a X1300 Pro... you can feel the luck in the air around me

Zorg, no one's actually trying to put you down. But, yes, the X1300 is on the low end of the scale when you're trying to run something like FAR CRY all maxed out. Just won't cut the mustard. Maybe as others have said, though, a driver update/patch might help some.

should be no problem since I can play Doom3 on Ultra-High absolutely smoothly!
Doom 3 always has been a tad choppy to play compared to Far Cry on my old 9600 Pro. So I concur with others it's likely a driver problem.
