Help Upgrade: X800XL to X1800XT

What should I expect with this upgrade?

I want to be able to run games with shader 3.0

Will I see a noticeable difference between this 2 cards?

Thanks

im sure you'll definatly see a noticable difference in all games (new ones)and the PS 3.0 support is a real plus nowadays. x1800xt arnt to bad price wise either, thou it is no x1900

Yes you will see a huge difference as you crank up the details and resolution, not so much in the image quality itself but the x1800xt will allow you to run higher antialiasing with less framerate drop and you'll get SM3.0 in the games that offer it. Biggest difference is HDR, X800 can't do it and X1800XT can.

All you need to see to convince yourself its worth it is Tomshardware VGA chart

Select the X800XL and X1800XT and check out the colossal difference in FPS

You most definitely will see a HUGE difference! Go for the 512MB version so you can enable maximum textures without a performance decrease. The newest games need it, especially with higher resolutions + AA/AF
