Can Radeon 9550 display WSXGA+ (1680x1050)?

Hi All,

I'm looking to replace my old 17" CRT with a 20" apple cinema display. Currently I've got a 256mb ATI Radeon 9550. However in my display settings the resolutions you can set the card at don't include 1680x1050 which seems strange as its a relatively common resolution. Does anyone know if the 9550 supports WSXGA+ or of any way to force it to display in this resolution?

Many Thanks,

lw

I think power strip can force resolutions, I know it's related to the card of course but the card reads the info from the monitor. Power strip will do it though, as far as I know..doen'st them manual state what resolutions are supported by this card?

thanks for the replies. to anyone wondering for the future:

even though the graphics card wouldnt bring up a 1680*1050 resolution in either settings or ccc, as soon as i plugged it in (via div) this resolution option appeared. Simple as that

cheers,

luke

YEs, it reading the resolution info ove the DVI connection, most monitor and newer DVI style TV's contain DCC info, tells the GFX card what the display is capable of.
