Graphics issues

Ok I recently purchased a ATI Radeon X1600 pro from compusa so I could run Oblivion. Well the game runs now and looks gorgeous, well that is until the screen totally distorts and becomes unplayable. It will look fine but when I begin to move around the graphics 'tear' and 'stretch' thats about the best way I can describe it. I may be able to get a screen cap of it but till then does this sound familiar to anyone? Its really buggin me since I just paid $230 essentially to play one game and its not workin ;p Any insight on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

I might be getting the same card and for (just) about the same reason. I wonder: what might your other system specs be mate?

Only paid $130 for my X1600 PRO. What resolution are you running at, what driver version and what monitor are you running on?

Also what temp does your card show and what power supply are you running?

1280x960, Ive tried the og drivers (the one on the cd with the card), the latest catalyst drivers, and the latest omega drivers. I have an old gateway brand monitor. As for the temp of the card I dunno, but the power supply is a 350w psu. The card suggests a 350 but I think I might be stressin it, Ive got two HD's a dvd and cd drive leds in the fan and the card itself has to tie into the psu. Might this be the prob? Can an ineffeicient psu cause graphics glitches like this? I also forgot to mention some colored spots and lines that keep showing up all over the screen.

Most definitely an inefficient PSU can cause what you are seeing. It does kind of sound like that may be the issue.
