Radeon 9800 Pro with Omega drivers help

I have a Radeon 9800 pro 128MB and i just downloaded the newest omega drivers, but when I look at my adapter settings it says the chip type is an ATI mobility/radeon 9000 AGP 64MB. I tried the ATI drivers from the site, but I got a message saying INF error video driver not found, so I tired manually installing the drivers from a walkthrough I found there, but whenever I tried installing a driver a message popped up saying "these drivers may not be compatible blah blah blah." I am completely ignorant when it comes to this stuff, and I would really appreciate some help. Also, when I go to the device manager, under display adapters it says radeon 9000, and down the list it says "unknown device" about 5 times with an exclamation mark besides it. I've searched everywhere for help, but have always come up short. I hope someone here can assist me.

System Specs

Are you sure that's a 9800 Pro? Where and how did you acquire it, and did it come in a box with a warranty so you can return it?

yup it's a 9800 pro. says so right on the box. I got it from my friend who bought it from best buy, had it for a couple weeks and it worked fine, but he decided to get a geforce 6800.
