Direct3D Error FFXI

I was wondering if anyone's heard of problems with Final Fantasy XI initializing Direct 3D. I recently switched my standard ATI drivers for the most recent Omega ones (I have a Radeon 8500 128mb card) and have hooked up my computer it would display to my tv through the s-video output. Before I made the switch to these drivers I was able to play FFXI no problem and now I recieve an error that says FFXI was unable to initialize Direct3D. I've rebooted countless times, un- and reinstalled the drivers after doing a full clean out, and searched forums with no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need more information please e-mail me back.

Thanks in advance

problem solved when i used the catalyst

try also to set up the basic resolution (background and monitor to the same... let's say 1024)

that could fix the problem
