Improvements over original 8500 bios in 9100 bios
Does the 9100bios give any performance difference from the 8500 bios?

Some people claim that they can get better OC-ing results with 9100 BIOS, also there are abnormally too high UT2k3 results... but this is just generally a newer 8500 BIOS.

I have read the Rage3d thread and I am using the 7.006 bios. However, I have problems getting back 285MHz for my mem.

Welcome to the club.
I couldn't break the 233 MHz barrier for my memory back with the 7.008 BIOS. I flashed the 9100 BIOS and I clock it at 263 MHz now It's worth a try. But remember the risks.

I haven't seen much of a difference, except that the weird window-flicker when firing up the ATI control panel that I had in early 8500 bioses is back. Bleh.

I don't understand. Isn't the default memory speed for the 8500: 275MHz?

Yes, for "retailversion"is 275/275 the default speed. However LE versions are 250/250 and sometimes even lower....

Hmmm...I only get that flicker with later drivers...hmmmm....I wonder if it'd clear that up on mine.
