ATI Radeon 9500 Or 9500 Pro?????

Should I Go for the 9500 or the 9500 pro???

I was reading about modding the 9500 into a 9700, is it better to do that, instead of getting a 9500 pro???

Why not go the whole hog and get the 9700Pro. If its a question of $ i understand, but if you are that close, i would make that extra jump.

ONLY a 9500 which uses a 9700 PRO PCB can be modded to 9700... sorry, but I don't think you can find it anymore.

I would kick my own ass if I bought a 9500 non pro. They can't even compare to a Ti4200. The 9500Pro runs with the Ti4600.

I think newegg still has 9500s that are based on the 9700 pcb.

Here the Pro version is only £20 more than the non-pro if the price is that similar to you it's definately worth getting the pro.

digitalwanderer is an unknown quantity at this point

Go with the Pro!

Don't count on any mods to work, just get a Pro and it'll be more than enough for your gaming needs for awhile.

Yeah, I agree with my India buddy DIGI.... The 9500PRO keeps up with the Ti4600 in almost all aspects. It is better with AA and AF on than the Ti4600 also.
