Stuttering Problem In Games and Catalyst Control Center

I'm using a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 meg card. I'm using the 6.3 version of the Catalyst Drivers. Everything has been fine, but I just installed a new motherboard and cpu. Now (even in that Catalyst Control Center window with the race car) I get this stutter or skip in the graphics. It's almost methodical as opposed to a random happening. It's not your normal lag from running something on too high a setting. I've tried different settings and nothing seems to affect it.

I had to reinstall XP when I put the new motherboard in. I installed the newest Catalyst drivers before I updated Windows XP. The cat. control center would not start up because I did not have Microsoft .Net 1.1 installed yet. I don't know if this affected things or not.

I'm going to reinstall the drivers tonight, but thought I would see if anyone else out there has had a similar issue or has read something on it.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Specs: AMD Sempron 3100+ (socket 754), Nforce3-A motherboard, 512 mb DDR400, Windows XP Professional, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 meg AGP.

The first thing you should install after setting up WindowsXP is the nForce chipset drivers, then I would do all your updates and install the CATs last.

You did install your ForceWare, yes?

If the ForceWare was on the mainboard install cd, Yes. *lol* Not sure if I recall that being on the disk or not. I'll check that out. Thanks for the input.
