X700 pro problem - no display
Maybe someone can help me...installed an x700 about 4 months ago, everything's been running fine, then yesterday I started up and got no signal being sent to the monitor (the computer starts up seemingly normally, just no display). Tried another monitor, same thing. Tried the old vid card, everything works fine. Tried swapping it back today, same problem. All connections are good. Got rid of dust. One thing I noticed with the x700 is that the fan stays on all the time. Any ideas?
My specs:
P4 2.4GHz
Intel chipset 850
512 Mb RDRAM
Win XP SP2
was running w/ Catalyst 6.2
Thanks!

you have a DVI to VGA connector.. try connecting to the DVI port and see....
aside from that.. sounds like something did just end up and quit

Do you get a 'no signal received' msg on the monitor, or does it just not fire at all??
if you haven't already, pop the vid card out and re-seat it, can do wonders that

Yep, on one monitor I get 'no signal received' & the other just has a flashing power light and claims to be in power save mode when I bring up the on-screen menu...actually tried to re-seat it a couple times, but thanks for the suggestion...
Judas - thanks, I'll try that tomorrow...
Robert - nope, no safe mode, not even bios...

That sounds so much like a dead vid card.
