2 x1600xt's crossfire v 1 x1900xt
Hey guys first post here so be gentle . I recently bought 2 x1600xt's crossfire enabled. I was not impressed on how they ran.
My question is:
Would an ATI Radeon X1900XT run faster than 2 X1600XT's on my computer or is it worth it to just stick with these ones.
My Specs
Asus MVP Crossfire MOBO
AMD 64 4600 x2
3 gigs ram
2 x1600xt's

could try running a few 3Dmarks and see what the results show.... (compare in the orb)
my x1900xtx stock spit out over 6500 3dmarks in 3DMark06

I recall mine getiing around 4000 plus points (this is with 2 x1600xts), it was annoying i was getting 25-30 fps max on all the benches in that test.

There is an acknowledged problem with your motherboard & crossfire. SEE HERE.
You ought to reserve judgement until after the fix is issued by Asus.

Thanks for the heads up, but still would the 2 x1600xt's run faster than a x1900xt even with the fix?.

There may be a theoretical answer, but no real answer until the BIOS problem is sorted.

One X1900XT is WAY faster than 2 X1600XTs!
One X1900XT even beats 2 X1800XTs in some games!

i unfortunatlly have to agree im not happy with my crossfire x1600pro's i wana upgrade to an x1800xt TRU ATi card... but i think i got more issues because im sharing IRQ's with my videocards and chipsets or im assuming i am just because iv ran outa everything else when i get home later today im going to check it out and post up in a thread about this issue im having...
but i think even an x1800XT will be faster than my x1600pro's crossfired...

it depends in what games. Games that take full advantage over xfire should make ur 1600s better.
I'm not a fan of Sli or Crossfire, at least not until i get a bigger monitor >.<
1800xt 512mb is sweet and i think is very cheap now.

Going by a few reviews it looks like even a X1800XT is faster than 2x X1600XT CF..

In theory, in a situation with severe geometry limitation, 2 X1600XT could be slightly faster than X1900XT, as they have 10 vertex shading units (5 each) while X1900XT has 8, but that's very unlikely. And as far as pixel performance is concerned, 2 X1600XTs are only a half of X1900XT.
