3538i + logic 5.5.1 causes a buffer effect

Last night I installed the 3538i and now I'm having problems in Logic Audio Platinum 5.5.1: Whenever I tweak something in Logic, there's this kind of 'buffer' effect, a very short loop repeating from wave buffer apparently. This also happens when windows does something on the background. And when it gets real bad, I get these messages:

"Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi.
Sample Rate 42499 recognized"

or just:

"Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi"

On some songs there's also crackles and pops even if the song uses only about 50% of processor. I have the same latency setting of 21.33ms which worked just fine with version 3537(and earlier) of KX drivers and I have tried different sync modes too, but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm running Windows XP PRO with AMD XP2100+. I can of course revert to 3537 if nothing helps, but...

Thanks in advance,

Riku

ASIO mode?

What exactly do you mean by 'changing the mode of asio'?

In Logic I can choose between 'ASIO directx full duplex' and 'KX ASIO', but only the latter works. I think I had the clock source set to 'internal' before, but with the new drivers the only choice is "KX internal". Could that be the difference?

I have tried with different latency / buffer settings, but none of it makes any difference at all. It seems I have to install 3537.

I now also got this error:
-----
Error while trying to synchronize Audio And MIDI.
Sample Rate 41310 recognized.
Check conflict between Logic Platinum and external device.
-----

Somehow it seems that other processes take priority to KX driver or something. They interrupt the communication between sequencer and the driver, but this is of course just huge quesswork. I wouldn't know...

Not an ASIO problem after all

It seems that even Winamp's playback is being interrupted for example when it's minimized and I restore the player window. So, it seems there's somekind of conflict between KX driver and possibly display driver. I know my card has it's own IRQ so that can't be it. And as I said, everything was fine with the older version of the driver. Weird stuff...

Just to make it sure, I re-installed version 3537 and yes, it worked as supposed to, then uninstalled it and installed 3538i again, but it's not working any better than before so I quess I just have to use 3537 for the time being...
