ASIO not working at all - what's wrong?

Hi,

I wanted to play around with ASIO yesterday and found it to be not working at all with my setup (Audigy 2 ZS, kX version 3538h / 3538i). None of the applications I tried were able to initialize the devices, and when I select the "ASIO-Settings" from the kX-Manager, nothing happens...

Any idea what could be wrong? I completely reinstalled kX with the latest version 'i' but that didn't help, too...

Maybe I removed some important system drivers? I have a tendency to uninstall everything I think I never will use, just to find that I need it 2 weeks later

I am a complete newbie to ASIO stuff, so please excuse if this sounds dumb...

Thanks,
Hannes

have you set the hardware accerlation in the multimedia-properties to full and the speaker to 5.1 or higher? what win-version are you using?

Hi,

thanks for your answer... I am using Win 2k, but your hint doesn't seem to help
(though I had hardware acceleration 1 notch away from full which is corrected
now).

Maybe it works for Sandor?

Bye,
Hannes

AFAIK dj_stick has the same type of card and no problems, he may come in here and give you some hints...

This situation occured at my friend's computer. So I didn't chek it yet. But I'm not sure that it'll help. He has XP and two audio cards simultaneously. Second card is SB Live! CT4830 and its I/O's works well through ASIO. Although SB0350 ASIO I/O's shown inactive in Sonar.

Thanks

you have to make sure that the A2ZS is the ASIO Card.

IIRC sonar can only use one card at a time

Is it NOT? At least CL wrote that Audigy 2 ZS supports ASIO 2.0 ...
