E-mu 0404 Soundcard

When I stumbled across the kX driver website, I noticed that it was designed to work with several Creative Labs and E-mu (same brand, pro range) sound cards.

Has anyone had any lucking getting this to successfully work with the E-mu 0404? I know it not in kX's recommended list, but maybe someone has it working.

I hate E-mu's drivers, and anything has to be better.


I have had it working with limited success with just the Analogue inputs. Has anyone got the Digital working as well!? (4 in / 4 out).

If so, can you send me your template that you used for the kX DSP?

none of the new e-mu range will work with kX correctly, however if you can get any sound to work - please post your results

Using Norton Ghost I made a backup of all my xp drive, then I reinstall all my app. This time I used loopbe for the virtual midi and KX project drivers 3537 for the Live , now everything works including Proteus X as VSTi in Cubase SX3. I installed KX avoiding to replace 10k2 drivers (thats my EMU0404). As an experiment I manage to play Proteus X with KX ASIO and to my surprise it works... I thought only EMU ASIO was allowed... The thing is, latency can go lower with EMU ASIO without noises and crackles, 10ms with KX, 7ms with EMU, not much difference anyway. So I suppose Proteus X does work with other cards as long they have ASIO drivers like KX, but I wont take my EMU 0404 to test the Live by itself. Good luck.

Does anyone have tested the GSIF compatibility (with kX) on EMU 0404 sound card ? Does it work ?

I just picked up a 0404 from a salvage store, I didnt get any of the breakout cables so i havent tested for sound yet.

But when i installed it im my test box, which had 3538i installed, kX driver loaded for the 0404 as "generic kX". thats as far as i got, before dloading the emu drivers. Going to try and make the analog side breakout cable and ill test with kX then.
