For those with low Guitar signal

Thaught I should share this info

I always struggled with a low guitar signal (connected to the Line-In)

I could get the signal at a decent level by upping the GAIN in KX but then I had that anoying hiss sound

I went from a SB Live 5.1 to Audigy 2 ZS, tried with my old ZOOM 505 FX box, bought a Behringer GDI21 DI/Preamp box but no luck

Now I had read somewhere that the MIC input was different from the Line-In so thaught I would try going that way

Signal is now at level (slightly lowez) without any noise

I do use the Behringer in bypass mode tho wich then funktions as a DI box

So my suggestion is Soundcard => DI Box => MIC input

I don't know why I tried this sooner, wish i had

No Preamp needed here, the preamp only brings the noise back (hiss)

I donīt think, the mic input will improve your guitar sound, since the impedance of that input is much too low and will kill high frequencies. Better way is to use a preamp, you can also build one for yourself, look this thread Cheap and easy to make LowNoise Guitar PreAmp.

Yeah TravelRec

U already recommended me this, thats why I bought that Behringer GDI21 Preamp

Problem is this Behringer adds alot of its own amp sound so the overall sound gets too distorted and noisy (hiss)

But all is good now with the Behringer in bypass (DI) mode and I do have pefect highs n lows m8, well for an Audigy 2 ZS anyway

Just need to get rid of this CRT monitor too wich add a buzz noise to my sound when I select my single coils seperatly on my strat or position myself wrongly to the screen

How big is the quality (guitar wise) difference between an Audigy 2 and an EMU 0404 or 1212m?

Anyway thx for the reply m8
