Traktor & Headphones On SB-Live (can I monitor from the Rear?)
Hello,
..so I have SB-Live installed (SB0220 10k1 [b800]) and "kX Audio Driver (v5.10.0.3537) (full)", running "Traktor Dj Studio (v2.5.3)"
What I want to do is to use my headphones to monitor in Traktor. My Audio Card doesn't have Headphones Out, and I pluged them to the Rear Out. I guess there is a way with KX to send "asio Kx Out" (Traktor monitor) to the Rear of the card some way, but I don't know how to do this. Please somebody help me here, or if there is a better way to do all this?
My Audio Card has the following INs and OUTs:
• Digital Out Jack
• Line In Jack
• Microphone In Jack
• Line Out Jack
• Rear Out Jack
I would really appreciate any kind of response
congrats for the amazing drivers.

It is easily done. Here is an example.
Let's say you use asio Kx Out 2/3 in Traktor. Open the DSP and connect two lines from the second and third pins of prolog to Analog Rear Left and Analog Rear Right on epilog.
That's it.

it doesn't work yet
look ... in traktor, i have set:
master left (mono): 0: kx out 00
master right: 1: kx out 01
monitor left (mono): 2: kx out 02
monitor right: 3: kx out 03
i did exactly as you said i think, ... but i get sound on the headphones only if i put a tick on "Toggle 'Swap Front and Rear' mode" ... and of course when i get sound on headphones this way .. i don't get sound on speakers
i guess girls can't do much without a help
can you please tell me what i have done wrong ?
thank you

I have another suggestion. Connect a Peak plugin to prolog to the second and third pin. Double click on it to use it. Now play something in Traktor, monitor it and see if you get a signal on the Peak plugin.
If you don't get a signal that would mean that the problem is in Traktor (a
checkbox that needs to be checked is not or some other configuration mistake).
I have never used Traktor so I don't know how this specific program works.
IMPORTANT :
I made a mistake in my explanation in my first post. Sorry. I confused two words. When I said prolog I should have said FXBus. You need to connect FXBus second and third pins to the Analog Rear. That should work.

Again, I am sorry. I was using the ProFX plugins and I did not remember the right plugin name.

i did exactly as you said about the fx bus... work but only for one channel .. that is weird... i was happy for just 1 second. i have noticed kx drivers drivers behaving weird .. like the one monent they do it the other they don't. at first i got only left channel working via headphones, the other none.
do u think it is couse i am drinking gordons ?
but i can tell u i have set kx with cubase sx 2 and works fine ...
also another thing ... i can use my external mixer "numark dm1175" it is an old model comparing to the nowadays' mixers but it is an amazing machine ... just consider i have bought this about 10 years ago for about 1000 euro. .. there is an option in traktor to set using external mixer and give different kx outputs for each deck. but i think things don't seam to work for me ... am still happy listening to some house music here
any ideas ?

I can't help you more, sorry. I don't work in music and I've never used a mixer in my life. So I can't help with the mixer question.
I don't know what is wrong. It is always harder to resolve problems when you are not there in person.
Out of curiosity, what will you use it for when you get it working.

dj set testing on pc.
actually when you do dj-sets you use headphones to preview what ur about to mix out ... that is happening only on ur headphones.
I have done much greater works on cubase than this easy thing.

ok so ...
click here this is the traktor setup window and here is when "Use External Mixer" has a tick.
This is what the DSP windows looks like at the moment. click
As I said ... at first i would use the headphones pluged in Audio Card's rear output in order to monitor in traktor. Then I thought to use external mixer and actually have the front and rear seperately on the external mixer so i can monitor using the external mixer's monitor. So what is left to be done is to have "Deck A" set to Front and "Deck B" set to Rear.
If you help me do that, then I will be able to mix without the mouse on this <<traktor>>...
... so what should i do on the DSP ?

Clear your DSP window. Load 2x src plugins (ProFX), set one src to FXBus 4/5, the second to 6/7, switch in traktor to the same kX outs (so 4/5 for master / 6/7 for monitor). Add a k1lt plugin (ProFX) and connect the src 1 directly the upper 2 inputs and src 2 with the next pair below. Open k1lt and set the upper output to "analog front" and the 2nd to "analog rear". Now your different traktor outputs appearing separated on front/rear. Don´t forget to save the config.

can you make a picture of this? i cant seem to follow yyour instructions. src wont connect to fxbus
btw i think the best way to route the audio in traktor is with the asio driver i think the lady had failed to mention that
