Another Guitar Rig problem
I can't get rid of my unprocessed guitar sound. I get a mixture of unprocessed and GR's processed sound. someone on the Native Instruments forum mentioned about muting the Line Input but when I do that I lose the signal completely. I've tried it in kx and Windows Mixer. Help please before I lose my mind!

Hi, tell us some more about your setup. Do you use ASIO for recording your guitar?

Hey Turin,
ASIO. I've tried some of the DSP setups suggested in other posts like http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=61779 and then GR shows a signal in or out but I get no sound from my speakers, even if I'm just trying to play an audio file.
GR Audio Setup:
ASIO, 48000, kx ASIO
In - kx In 00, 01
Out - kx Out 00, 01
SB Audigy - Mackie mixer to Line In on the Audigy
AMD Athlon XP 3200, 2GB ram

I forgot to ask but perhaps you could do a screen grab of your DSP setup?

take a look at this. It's a minimal setup made with profx plugins that should work for you.
Line In goes to asio 0/1. asio out (from f/x bus) goes to your monitor, or any output you choose. (I think you should use k2lt on audigy instead of k1lt but I have a Live.)

No go. Same problem as before. GR shows a signal in and out but no sound from speakers (including playing mp3s). If I Reinitialize DSP I have sound, of course. Here's a grab of my DSP. http://www.imarkconsulting.com/images/myDSP.gif
My Src is set to AC97 Line In. Any particular settings in kx Mixer?

Note, that k1lt don't swap rear and front by default. If you connect fx bus 0/1 directly to speakers you should get some sound at least from mp3. Try tweaking your k2lt to get any sound ..

Aah, that was it! I didn't realize k2lt didn't swap the front and back. Changed that and all is well. The only thing I miss now is I have no control of my audio level or muting through Mixer (or my keyboard media controls). Any way to route through the Windows/kx Master Mixer? Having to adjust my volume only by the controls on the back of my monitors is kinda a PITA.
Sorry for all the questions but I still find this kx thing a little baffling. Thanks for all your help thus far.

Hello again! Default kx mixer controls are connected to default plugins. If you want to set master volume in kx mixer, you need to load default epilog in dsp. With k2lt it is natural to use your GR gain knob

Warning: Make sure to open the kx DSP, and save a copy of the original settings before giving my suggestion a try.
What worked for me was to open the KX DSP, find the prolog module. In my case my guitar enters the system through my behringer module via the audigy's optical inputs, so I opened the KX DSP panel (right click the KX icon in the system tray and select "KS DSP") I then checked each connection on the prolog module until I found the optical inputs (which were 6 and 7 btw). I then deleted the two simulated cables running between the prolog module and the xrouting module. I then saved this DSP setup with a different name, so that I could revert back to the original setup if needed. Works great. Everything else still works, but I no longer have the original guitar signal playing with the guitar rig signal.
You may have to play with the recording levels on the selected input to make sure your getting a signal.
