NI Guitar Rig Input/Output Looping problem

Hi all,

I've been using kx drivers for some while now. Good work!!

I am quite familiar with the DSP and am using kx with Cubase with no problems at all, but when I try to use NI Guitar Rig in it's standalone format I get a strange problem.

Guitar Rig input is set to kx in 0 & 1 output is kx out 0 & 1.
I started using my main Cubase setup at first but due to the problems I'm having I've cut right back to using ProFX src (Line In) and ASIO.

I start up Guitar Rig and disconnect both input and output.
I connect line in straight to ASIO 0&1.
Then back in Guitar Rig, I change the inputs to kx in 0 & 1 and get no input at all, but, if i connect the ouput in Guitar Rig I get input and output but looped! In other words the output is looping back into the input!

Now I've dug around in the router, tried various other setups but to no avail.

The really annoying thing is that Guitar Rig works fine as an insert effect in Cubase with no looping problems at all.

This could of course be a bug in Guitar Rig, but I can use Guitar Rig on my laptop standalone with no issues at all!

If anyone could give a push in the right direction it would be gretaly appreciated.

I am not familair with Guitar Rig or Cubase, but what type of sound card do you have. If it is a 10k1 based card, it could be an issue related to ASIO mapping (out). I have noticed that the channel mapping can be different using different programs, and if that is the case, then you may have to try different inputs/outputs to try and determine the correct mapping for that program and your sound card. This could also cause the looping if it happens, that you are sending the signal out of kX using the same channel that you are using to send the signal into kX (which might happen unwittingly, if the output mapping is shifted). Anyway, it is just a thought, as I am not familair with Guitar Rig, and I have not really used any of the ASIO (in) channels as of yet.
