Asio and sb0220

With my SB0220, not all of the Asio outputs work, and the mapping does not always match that of ASIO aware software. Is this related to my sound card (another sb022x issue?), or what?

The only Asio aware software I have is AsioScope and Kristal Audio Engine, so those are what I used for testing.

Here is what I found:

Using ASIO connections of Epliog and AsioScope:
- ASIO 1 and 2 do not work.
- Mapping is one to one

Using ASIO connections of Epilog and Kristal Audio Engine:
- ASIO 2 and 3 not working
- mapping (Epilog ASIO numbers on left, Kristal on right):
- 0 = 2
- 1 = either 3 or 4 (not working)
- 2 = either 3 or 4 (not working)
- 3 = 5
- 4 = 6
- 5 = 7
- 6 = 8
- 7 = 9
- 8 = 10
- 9 = 11
- 10 = 12
- 11 = 13
- 12 = 14
- 13 = 15
- 14 = 0
- 15 = 1

Using Asio ProFx plugin connections and AsioScope:
- mapping (Asio ProFX plugin on left, AsioScope on right)
- 0 = 14
- 1 = 15
- 2 = 0
- 3 not available
- 4 not avaiable
- 5 = 3
- 6 = 4
- 7 = 5
- 8 = 6
- 9 = 7
- 10 = 8
- 11 = 9
- 12 = 10
- 13 = 11
- 14 = 12
- 15 = 13

Using Asio ProFX plugin connections and Kristal Audio Engine:
- 1 to 1 mapping (3 and 4 again not available).

Anyone know why the mappings are different in the above configurations?

I am guessing that for one reason or another 2 of the Asio channels do not work(normally), and thus why they are not avaialble on the Asio ProFX plugin, and is probably why 2 of them do not work when using Epilog. Is this documented somewhere?

Thanks,
-Russ

Is this documented somewhere (especially the mappings as it was a pain to figure all that out)?

*** Edit ***
Never mind, I see that it can be different for different cards.

Ok, I have read through some of the other threads on this, and see that it is common for some 5.1 cards. The only thing I am unsure about is, why the mappings are different depending on which host software I use. The mappings seem to remain constant (i.e. not randomly shifting) when using the same DSP plugins with the same Asio host, but they are different depending on which host software I use. Is this common as well? (as I stated above, I have only been able to test with 2 different Asio hosts, so the problem could be with one of them)

Toadly_Ossum is on a distinguished road

when I used one of these cards I could never pin down which ports were definately not working correctly. But I was able to find 4 ASIO port that worked correctly in every program. I think I ended up seting up a DSP and using Cubase to just find 4 that worked and stuck with that setup.
