Audigy 2 24-bit/96kHz ASIO 2.0 Recording support

According to Creative's website,on Feb 2004,
only SBAudigy2Plat.Pro had --> ASIO 2.0 Low Latency Multi-Track [color=red]Recording [/color]Support (24-bit/96kHz)

But now, after Audigy4's release, the website's comparision chart shows all the members of the Audigy2 family can do 24bit/96kHz ASIO 2.0 Recording.

Seems that they were working long & hard on 24/96 ASIO support for Audigy2 ZS / Audigy 2 value....

For how long, year & half?

RESAMPLING

What the comparison charts don't tell is RESAMPLING!.
My most educated guess tells me that ONLY the zs platinum pro avoids it at 96khz:
At this frequncy, all the others will resample "internally" to 48khz ..and that the company wont boast about, will it?

direct spdif or direct 24/96 recording is possible, using the p16v chip it bypasses the 10k2 DSP

I'm more interested in the 24-bit side of things than the 96. The difference between 16- and 24-bit resolution has a bigger impact on sound quality than 96kHz versus 48kHz.
