routing linein to channel x and sample it

Hep hey!
I made a thread one week ago and said it look easy...well i used lemuray's 100% nice tut. and it worked. still do!
but im running out of clues what to do now!

i want a hardware synth sound to go into the linein ( through the dsp ) and then address it to a seperate channel in my music program. i dont need many channels , only one at a time, cus when i made a synthsound i sample it...and yes..i want to be able to sample the hardware synth in my sequencer...with or without vst dx effects..but would be nice if i can get some effects on it before i sample it...

so what i would like to do! is to hear the synth through the linein/dsp and then out to my monitors...then deside when the sound is cool and record it....i guess i need to asio record but ?..heh...

here is what i know.

the linein goes to a scr with linein as setting...then this one goes into the mixer in the dsp. and from here ?

basicly i dont know how to pull this off...but i would be very happy to know how to..cus then i can master my song and begin another one!

cheers gkmotu

Hi!
What is your sequencer? Is it an ASIO application? If yes, then simply wire the line-in SRC directly to Prolog or ASIO plugin with an ASIO input pair of your choice. Then select in the sequencer that pair and apply it on your recording track, then record. That´s it. Try to take some time and read all guide threads on general forum to answer your questions.

www.gkmotu.com/renoise.htm

now thats how my sequencer looks...so yes I got ASIO and the asio output from the individual channels works fine....
but i dont have a record button for asio input in the program.
but cant i just route the signal from the asio channels in the dsp to a channel in my tracker ? i mean i got many output channels as u can see ?

i have to say...now i control the midi riffs from my sequencer and then just record it in soundforge 7..now that works good...but id like it to be inside my tracker!

check the link in the top...made some pics of the asio in out isuues in my tracker!

I don't have/use Renoise, but it looks like it does not have ASIO INPUTS at all.
(correct me if I'm wrong).
If so, then there is no way to record Audio straight into Renoise via ASIO.
You'll have to use another app. You already mentioned using SoundForge for that.

...and don´t forget: recording is only possible with kX-ASIO set to 48kHz and full hardware acceleration in multimedia tab...
