Audigy 2 and linein problems

Ok, so I'm completely lost with the kX drivers. The only thing I've been able to do with them is turning on waveout so I have audio output. I've wandered through the help files but it's just too messed up for me. My problem: I'm trying to connect my bass guitar into the linein of my Audigy. I'm thinking of using Fruityloops as a mixer so that I could use effects on my bass and play it while listening to songs on winamp (so I could play over the songs playing).

Can anyone help me? I'm really, really fucked up here

System Specs

firstly are you connecting the guitar directly to the line in? or do you have a di box/amplifiers line out in between?
secondly you have to set up the DSP to work with it

FL has ASIO? in that case the DSP should be working - check which ASIO ins on the epilog the first two (ac97) ins on the prolog go to
then use those ins in FL (remember kX starts from 0. most sequencers start from 1, so 3=4,4=5 and so on)

also in the AC97 page of the mixer, enable line in (unmute it) and brign up its volume slider, and select line in as the record from source
