Recording/Input ASIO

I am using FL Stuido, which requires ASIO inputs. Does kX support this, I cannot find it anywhere.

What I would like to do is route the output of the SB Live Samplers/Synths to an ASIO record input. Is something like this possible?

kX supports ASIO, infact that is why kX was written

and to route soft samplers back to an input

follow the steps here
and then instead of using an effect connect directly to the epilog

The main problem turned out to be that FL Studio does not recognise ASIO inputs unless the program is set to use 48KHz sample rate, instead of the default 44.1.

That is the main problem solved.

Is this a pretty standard issue? Does ASIO only work properly at 48KHz?

(and thanks for the welcome, I think you did help me before, a month or so ago when I was having trouble with the front/back swap issue)

Okay, I followed the steps in the Tutorial. It does seem half finished, but in the end I did figure it out.

Unfortunately though this is the exact opposite of what i am wanting to do... I want to take the output of Synth1 or Synth2, i.e. the built in SB Soundfont players, and process the output using software effects, i.e. monitor and control the output using my sequencer's mixer.

I cannot find out how to route the synts at all, I see AUX, Mic etc, but no Synth.

Hi!

Maybe you could try the kx-router (right-click kxtray -> kx-router) and tweak the synths out. By default both are routed to FX-Bus 2/3 in the DSP. So set in the router an other output pair for each synth and wire from that FX-Bus pair to a physical output on Epilog (so front or rear or center/sub). Read in the kx-helpfile about routing and DSP - if no success, reply again.
ASIO works only at 48kHz for recording, since the DSP-chip is fixed at 48kHz by hardware - this is not a driver issue.

the kX Synths are software generated, and there-fore mappable to the FXBus from within the kX router

I think I might have a similar problem with Tracktion and my SBLIve 5.1 platinum card.

Do I have to use 48000 Hz?

I just bought $50 worth of drum loops that are 44100. I hope Tracktion can do the import and sample rate conversion o.k.

Yes, everytime you want to use ASIO and recording then you have to set your application to 48kHz. Since the DSP is locked to 48k this is a must be.

For converting the loops you also could use older versions of wavelab or cubase, they work fine.
