Audigy2 Platinum eX 24/96 VSTi audio recordings

How can I record the audio signal of a VST instrument in Cubase SX2 with 32bit-floating/96KHz resolution?
Up untill now the available ASIO inputs with the Creative's dedicated driver "ASIO 24/96" were just the Analog inputs (1,2 & 3), so I couldn't record the audio signal of HALion VSTi in Cubase SX2 in this high resolution .

Is there a way around that? Maybe some mixer tweaking?

Yep, use the audio mixdown option and set it to whatever sample rate and bit depth you want. You can do it even with any soundcard, as the sound is not being recorded from an audio input, but rendered by the host computer cpu.

So I guess this means that I should ignore the dedicated 24/96 ASIO driver and choose say Audigy 2 ASIO with a given resolution of 32bit-floating/48KHz.

Just wondering, what is the procedure of exporting a recording at 24/96? Should I record the audio information of HALion in 32/48 and the render it to 32/96? If so what about the audio recorded from the "physical" inputs? Wouldn;t it be of lesser quality, since 32/96 is better than 32/48?

If you use the export function the soundcard is not used. Therefore, you can even make the file 192khz 24bit or better if you want. You won't hear that quality because of the audigy/live resolution, but the file will have it.

Thanks for your posts. I exported my HALion MIDI Tracks to 32bit-floating/96KHz and it performed ok.

I just wonder if anyone knows when kX Project will release a dedicated ASIO driver for 24/96 recording resolution.
