ASIO and Trakor (help please!)

Hello !!

I have a problem, and i decided to share it with you, in hope that you can help me

Well, I have sound blaster live (1024 player, that is 4.1) and windows XP (sp1). Because the NI Traktor 1.0 didn't works fine (high latency) on win XP (on win 98SE works fine), i change the original creative drivers with the KX drivers in hope, that i'll get lower latency. When I played music in traktor it plays very slow and you can hear bumping noise in sound. That was on ASIO with 2.66ms latency. Lately I change the sound settings (i don't remember which). and after that it works fine. Sound was correct and clear even with 2.66ms latency. It works fine for a half year i guess... but then i change settings (don't remember which) because my MIC input did't works. Now the MIC work, but the i can't get 2.66ms latency any more. I can't get a clear sound even with 20.xx latency.

So I don't know what to do. It worked before .. so the computer can't be a problem (i have 2600 barton, 512ram). I think that I recognised the problem after I installed some windows bug fix (windows update) but that may not be true.

Can anyone help me ?

PS: Sorry for my english - it really suxx

PS: it's really hard to describe a problem when you don't know the language

in my experience traktor 1 would not work properly with kX (due to the required 48khz)

the point is, that it worked before .. but it doesn't work after I change some settings ...

i also try moving a sound card to another slot and reinstalling the drivers but that doesn't help ..

i try windows system recovery too but it doesn't work at all - i don't know why ...

try re-initialising the DSP
and connecting the ac-97 input to an ASIO input on the epilog
also defragment you hard-drive (this can cause a higher mininum latency due to longer seek times)

what version are you using????

mine works fine at 10ms, but for live i prefer using 21ms which gives no glitches no drops no clicks at all. i can use my guitar live with Thor's Hammer and process a mic trhough the effects (which are simultaneaously processing traktor's output).

it works like a charm. i just hope i can upgrade my video card so i get less clicks (it's an old AGP with 4MB)

what is exactly what you are trying to do?

version of traktor is 1.0 (2.5.3 works fine with 2.66ms latency) and version of kx drivers is 3537 ...

mine worked fine with 2.66 latency, but then i change some settings (i think) and install some critical updates for win XP, and now i hear crack in the sound and it plays very slowly (u know what i mean) ... the point is, that it works just fine before with 2.66 latency !!

System Specs

basic DSP setup for what ur doing
fxbus 4/5 (front) to foh speakers (front outputs)
fxbus 6/7 (rear) as monitor (rear outputs)
ac97 configured for mic, into a mixer like the mx 6, then connect the fxbus 45 to the mx6, and onto the foh speakers
you could also have a sidechained compressor that will reduce the music volume when you speak into the mic

check this ...

i noticed, that if I play a track in traktor 2.5.3 works just fine with 2.66 latency (ASIO) until I don't start traktor 1.0. Then if I start traktor 1.0 (and don't play any sound in it) traktor 2.5.3 starts to play slow and it cracks (just like in traktor 1.0).

any suggestions ?

PS: and it doesn't matter if i have settings in traktor 1.0 set to ASIO or MME or directX ..

damn it's weird

Ello! me again :P

I Just record a sound so you all can hear what's my problem.

I played a track in traktor 2.5.3 (with 2.66 latency - ASIO) and after a few seconds (on 00:18) i turned on Traktor 1.0. You can hear a sound with crack and a slow play. After a few seconds (on 00:27) i turned traktor 1.0 off and then it works just fine.

you can hear it at

ftp://traktor:traktor@194.249.35.118:2905

file is named weird.mp3 and it has 545kb.

PS: and use flashFXP or something like that (with IE it may not works).

that sounds like the CPU is overtaxed, or the soundcard is overtaxed
if you are using both versions at once on the same computer
probalby not a very good idea - that sounds like a buffer underun error when i listen to it

if i play music just in traktor 1.0 it is the same (just wan't to let u know how the sound is cracking)

in traktor 1.0 (cracks all the time)
in 2.5.3 only if i turn on the traktor 1.0 too

urm .. and one more thing .. i have just remembered, that before the problem starts the WAVE slide in kx mixer didn't works. The sound was palying even if i turned wave on mute. Not that works - if i turn wave on mute the sound is muted

and that:

if I turn on 2 traktors 1.0 the sound is played 2 times slower and it cracks 2 times more. if i turn on 3 traktors the sound is played 3 times slower etc. ...
