ASIO 24/96 for emu10k1

it's good to have support for 24/96 in the emu10k2 too bad that I don't have the card lol

I would like to ask if there is planned support for emu10k1 24/96 ?

if not I want to know if when I link a 24/96 output channel from the Fxbus to the "Rec" of the epilog and use recording software to record that sound :

does the recorded sound is 24/96 or is it resampled to 16/44.1 ?

I have a CT4832 emu10k1 Sb live value!

I see , is there a way for me to be able to work at 24/96 ?

I fear that because of the lack of support for asio 24/96 in emu10k1 the sound is resampled back from 24/96 into 16/44.1 when software record it.

EEK!

sorry I think I confused here - I need ASIO OUTPUT in 24/96 not input, SORRY !

the whole idea is to be able to record programs that output sound in 24/96 into the computer

Nope, your card can only do 16/48. Even on Audigy 2 the 24/96 mode is bound to many limitations. But the benefits of 24/96 are actually relatively minor, especially on Creative cards

the driver, for compatibility reasons might accept many formats that the hardware does no support natively, so you can be sure somewhere down the line there's a software and/or hardware conversion. You should do both playback and record at 16/48 for cleanest audio and best performance

any ideas how I can check and verify any conversions done with any programs ?

does it mean that software playback > software record will also loose quality ?
cause I don't care much at the moment for the hardware, if the driver supports and passes the digital data
as it is then it should be fine, the rest can be taken care of later when I have the hardware.

the card itself will resample every thing that is sent to it… you simply cannot truly record anything other than 16/48 with kX, even that signal is resampled (to sync with the cards clock)

APS is the very first ever 10k1 board release by e-mu… best kX card for 24/96 when it is supported is the audigy 2 series

the differences between the audigy 2 models are the ins and outs
audigy 2 are 6.1, where as audigy 2 zs are 7.1, and the platinum/ex/pro versions have a drive bay/external i/o box

necromancy: but do they all have 3 analog stereo outputs ? I heard that the non-platinum/pro/ex versions have a mutch lower SNR at the subwoofer analog output ?
